In the early stages of the pandemic it became apparent that face coverings would become an important tool to reduce the spread of COVID19. The team at Alder Hey Innovation Hub designed and developed a face covering that would be best in class for comfort, sustainability and effectiveness. Initially designed for use within non clinical settings inside the hospital to allow parents and visitors to continue to see patients, it was clear that there was a wider application for such a great UK made item for wider social settings.
We had been using our eco friendly printing machines to print the designs onto the masks, and approached Alder Hey about launching and marketing the mask to the wider public in order to raise funds for the hospital and get this best in class product in wider use, increasing reusable masks to help combat the number of disposable masks in circulation.
