The warm and cosy shade was chosen to highlight our desire for togetherness with others
A velvety, gentle peach hue called “Peach Fuzz” was picked as Pantone’s 2024 Colour of the Year, the company announced earlier last month.
Officially named PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz, it is a “cosy peach hue softly nestled between pink and orange” that “brings belonging, inspires re-calibration, and an opportunity for nurturing”, according to Leatrice Eiseman, the Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute.
The introduction of Peach Fuzz also marks the 25th anniversary of the Pantone Colour of the Year programme. First introduced by the Pantone Colour Institute in 1999 with the colour of the Year Cerulean Blue, the Pantone Color of the Year programme has become a globally iconic cultural touchstone, drawing attention to how what is taking place in our global culture is reflected and expressed through the language of colour.
Founded in 1963, Pantone provides color solutions for a variety of different needs. Today, Pantone’s colour language is used by designers worldwide to access colour trends, communicate colour choices, and control consistency of colour across every imaginable surface, texture, material, and finish.
How can I use Peach Fuzz in my custom branded clothing designs?
Visually arresting and inviting, Peach Fuzz is a nurturing tone that inspires us to instinctively want to reach out and touch. Conveying a message of tactility that comes through in sueded, velvety, quilted and furry textures, this colour is an enveloping hue that awakens our senses. Try introducing this hue to your next logo or design, and watch its warmth come alive as we turn your designs into reality.
It could be the perfect addition to your merchandise, whether you’re using custom branded apparel for your next event, for your own web shop, or for your team to wear.
Lending itself warmly to apparel, a design featuring Peach Fuzz would look perfect printed onto a tote bag, hoodie, or t-shirt.
You could also embrace Peach Fuzz by opting for peach-coloured clothing to add a layer of softness to your merchandise or brand look for 2024.
Where else will Peach Fuzz show up in 2024?
Expect to see this warm shade used across interior design and home decor, in the hair and beauty industry and across packaging and multimedia design.
The colour is already showing up in fashion, with Victoria Beckham and Stella McCartney embodying the colour in their catwalk shows, notes Fashion United’s Jayne Mountford.
